ROCKFORD — A local high school PE class was interrupted for a brief, disturbing moment on Friday.

Two individuals in a vehicle drove past Guilford during an outdoor PE class while yelling and showing a handgun. The RPS school took protective action.

Staff alerted the School Resource Officer and moved students to safety. The suspects drove away and were quickly caught by police.

Staff and students remain safe, and no one was injured. Classes continue as normal.
