Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts

TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, has a long and complicated history that goes back thousands of years. With that in mind The Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts is hosting its third annual Día de Muertos Mask Making Workshop on Saturday, September 20.

The event is happening at the St. James the Apostle Crhuch on 17 Whig Street in Trumansburg from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is free to attend. Day of the Dead is celebrated every year on Nov. 1st and Nov. 2nd.

Anyone who attends will learn how to create sugar skull masks, design sugar skull make-up, and build crepe paper flower hair accessories. Materials will be free, but donations will be accepted.
