In response to recent fatalities and community concerns over electric bikes and motorcycles, Honolulu Police Department District 8 officers arrested 11 juveniles Thursday night on 15 total offenses, HPD said.
The department said the operation also reinforced its Safer Roads, Together campaign.
Along with the arrests, police recovered 10 e-dirt bikes and issued 10 citations. All arrests and citations were carried out without incident, HPD said.
“As always, HPD would like to remind everyone that it’s our shared responsibility to keep the roads safe for everyone. Slow down, buckle up, wear a helmet, and walk safely,” a statement from HPD said.
