JACKSON, Wyo. — Get ready for a hazy weekend.

The National Weather Service’s Riverton office has issued another air quality alert for western Wyoming, in effect until 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7.

“Smoke from distant wildfires burning in Idaho, Washington and especially British Columbia, are responsible for a large amount of the recent smoke,” the alert reads. “In Wyoming, the Dollar Lake wildfire [north] of Pinedale will continue to push smoke into the Upper Green River Basin given the prevailing wind direction.”
