LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - A southern Kentucky city council has voted to remove its mayor.
The London City Council voted to impeach and remove Mayor Randall Weddle and appoint Tracy Hamblin as the acting mayor.
Mayor Randall Weddle faced various allegations from the city council, including improper appointments or actions regarding the housing authority and taking actions without the council’s approval. The hearing followed several heated meetings between the council and the mayor.
