LUTZ, Fla. (WFLA) — A 19-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting that happened mid-August, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Anthony Williams, 19, was detained at the scene of the Aug. 17 shooting — a home on Helena Street in Lutz. However, at the time, he was only charged with carrying a concealed firearm and armed trespassing.

Sheriff Chad Chronister said detectives worked "tirelessly to piece together evidence," and after consultation with the State Attorney's Office, arrested and charged Williams with second-degree murder on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Deputies said they believe an argument between Williams and the victim, Joshua Benjamin, 34, led up to the shooting.
