TWIN FALLS — An electric bike rider was seriously injured Friday afternoon after he collided with a vehicle on Main Avenue.

The 18-year-old rider was westbound on Main Avenue at about 1 p.m. when he struck an SUV driven by a 54-year-old woman who stopped at Eden Street North and proceeded to cross Main Avenue, said the investigator with the Twin Falls Police Department.

Witnesses said the bicycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, the police officer said.

The rider was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, while the SUV driver wasn’t injured.

The roads remained blocked by police officers hours after the crash, with the e-bicycle and personal belongings still in the intersection.

No citations have been issued and the crash is under investigation.
