First Alert Weather: Storms possible tonight as front pushes through

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good afternoon!

Today: It’s shaping up to be a hot Friday across central Alabama, with highs climbing into the low-to-mid 90s this afternoon. A few isolated showers may develop, but coverage looks limited, so we’ve kept rain chances around 20%.

Storm Prediction Center (SPC) Outlook: The SPC has placed areas north of Alabama in a Slight Risk today, mainly from the Ohio Valley into parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.

A Marginal Risk (1/5) does exist for a few of our north and northwestern counties. For central Alabama, we’re not included in the severe risk area, but we’ll still be watching for a few storms to develop later tonight as a front approaches from the north.
