The University of Missouri wants to make money by selling some of its land it no longer needs in the Columbia region.
During a UM Board of Curators meeting today, Chancellor Mun Choi said selling the land could lead to significant revenue for the university.
“I’m looking forward to this very exciting opportunity to transform, not only our campus, but the region surrounding our university,” said Choi.
For the project, the university wants to partner with public and private businesses.
“So some of the opportunities that we’ll be seeking are hotels on our property with a conference center and entertainment district that can be used that will bring more people to Colombia throughout the year and also provide more amenities for people that live in Columbia,” said Choi. “We’ll also seek reta
