DULUTH — Calvin Boone didn’t exactly savor the views on Skyline Parkway on Friday night.

Boone, a former all-conference runner at St. Scholastica, blazed to a time of 4 minutes, 26 seconds in the 2025 running of the event, staged near Enger Park.

Boone’s time was the fastest men’s time since Josh Kerr in 2018, who ran a 4:10. Boone finished three seconds ahead of John Curley on a night in which eight men ran a 5-minute or better mile.

The women’s winner was Caitlin Braithwaite, who actually ran the course alongside her 7-year-old son in the recreational division before going the second mile in 5:24 and winning the division by 40 seconds.

John Byboth (5:32) was the men’s masters competitive division winner and Cristina Nistler won the women’s masters division in 6:59.
