DULUTH — Facing their first AAAAA opponent of the season in Friday's home opener, the Duluth East Greyhounds came away with more hard-earned lessons than points in a lopsided 38-0 loss to Brainerd at Ordean Stadium.
The experience, while disappointing in the moment, will loom large in the growth of the program moving forward.
“It’s part of our evolution as a program, part of our growth as a team this year to experience opponents like this,” said second-year head coach Blane Tetreault.
“That program has a great tradition, and for us to experience that will go a long way, this season especially, for us as we grow and improve, and I think we learned a lot tonight.”
