A Coventry institution has been quietly helping the region's women and children since the late 1800s. It has seen thousands upon thousands of vulnerable women, children and babies through its doors - but many Coventrians do not even know of its existence.

Historically known as St Faiths, its origins date back to the 1890s. It was initially meant for young women who found themselves homeless or without work.

It later evolved into a home where unmarried pregnant women and girls could go for refuge. An unknown amount of children entered into adoption throughout the middle decades of the 20th century via St Faiths.
