LONDON, Ky. — The London City Council in Kentucky voted in favor of impeaching Mayor Randall Weddle over allegations that he mismanaged several departments and city finances.

According to WBIR's sister station in Lexington, LEX18, city council members spent nearly nine hours in a hearing in Laurel County discussing 14 charges Weddle is facing, which included violating proper procedure in dismissing members of the London Housing Authority, as well as harassment claims from city employees.

Officials have named Tracy Handley as the acting mayor.
