The visiting Homer football team defeated Redington 26-0 on Friday in the Mid Alaska Conference opener for both teams.
The Mariners move to 4-0 overall, while the Huskies are 2-2.
Homer now has shutouts in its last three games and has given up just eight points this season.
Redington had scored a total of 90 points in its last two games with a pass-heavy attack that floods the field with receivers.
“I’m really proud of them, given everything that we threw at them in preparation for this game — completely new coverage, completely new defense, moved guys around,” Homer head coach Justin Zank said. “We asked a lot of them mentally and I’m really proud of the guys for stepping up the way they did tonight.
“They executed perfectly, and they did it with physicality.”
