Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Brian McFadden , stating he was the "first person who genuinely cared about my well-being", but also acknowledging that he doesn't appreciate her discussing their past.

Kerry, who celebrates her 45th birthday today (Saturday, September 6), was married to former Westlife member Brian from 2002 to 2004. The couple, who share two daughters, Molly Marie and Lily-Sue, first crossed paths in 1999 and were engaged within months.

Despite their marriage not standing the test of time, Kerry reflected on her years with the Westlife star with a sense of nostalgia.
