Leicester City’s early-season victories and the slip-ups of their rivals have boosted their promotion chances.
City sit fourth at the first pause of the season having taken nine points from a possible 12 under new manager Marti Cifuentes.
While it feels like City have some way to go to reach their best, they have at least picked up wins. That’s more than can be said for many of their expected rivals at the top of the table.
Fellow relegated clubs Southampton and Ipswich and last season’s play-off final losers Sheffield United were predicted to be in the running for automatic promotion.
But after four games each, they have just one win between them and all sit in the bottom half.
