Marti Cifuentes’ half-time changes helped clinch an unlikely point for Leicester City at Oxford after Aaron Ramsey’s reckless debut red card nearly cost them.

With his team a goal down and a man down at half-time, Cifuentes introduced Ricardo Pereira and Harry Winks and tweaked his formation, with the former grabbing the goal that earned his side a draw.

Ramsey’s dismissal for a high tackle was justified and came at the end of an end-to-end first quarter in which Will Lankshear had put Oxford ahead and Jordan Ayew had equalised.

Boubakary Soumare’s unfortunate own goal just before the break put City on the back foot, but Cifuentes found a solution in the second period to ensure the unbeaten run extended to three games.
