STEVENS POINT − The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra will take over the Very Young Composers program in 2025, ensuring its continuation and growth.
The program, which has been running for more than 15 years, allows fourth- and fifth-grade students to create and hear their own music performed by professional and student musicians, according to a community announcement.
The program was inspired by the work of Jon Deak and developed locally by founder Robert Rosen. It has become a beloved initiative in central Wisconsin.
Program to be integrated into CWSO's outreach efforts
The CWSO will formally integrate the program into its community outreach efforts, working in partnership with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point music students and elementary music educators in the Stevens Point
