A single train car carrying hydrochloric acid "tipped" off the tracks at an Akron rail yard the morning of Sept. 5, but no leaks were reported, the Akron Fire Department said.

The Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway reported the incident that occurred around 9:45 a.m. at its East Market Street rail yard, the fire department said in a news release.

No immediate threat of danger was found after the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was dispatched to the scene, along with Akron police and fire officials, EnviroServe and railway representatives, the release said.

The cause and origin of the incident are under investigation.

The tank car remained intact. Four large cranes were later used to place the car back on the tracks, the release said. No other information was available late Sept. 5.
