MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis Police (MPD) arrested a 16-year-old and his mother in connection with a shooting on Beale Street.
MPD announced the arrests Thursday morning. MPD charged the 16-year-old with attempted second-degree murder, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and reckless endangerment. His mother, 49-year-old Suntria Stackins, was charged with being an accessory after the fact of attempted second-degree murder.
According to court documents, Stackins was charged after Shelby County Deputies received a call saying that Stackins' son, who had been implicated in the Beale Street shooting and was wanted for questioning by the Memphis Police Department, was at her home.
