Leicester City’s “not impressive” performances and the struggles of their fellow promotion favourites means the Championship promotion race is wide open, pundit Don Goodman believes.

City have nine points from a possible 12 to sit fourth in the table, but Sky Sports co-commentator Goodman’s not been blown away by Marti Cifuentes’ side.

It’s a fair assessment, with City second-best for large parts of their win over Charlton, and with the victory over Birmingham a battling display rather than a free-flowing exhibition of their quality in their squad.

Still, City are doing better than Southampton, Ipswich and Sheffield United, who were expected to be at the top of the table, but who all sit in the bottom half.
