Right at a year since it opened to the public, Zink Lake will have to be temporarily drained to address a malfunction with the dam, officials said.

Jeff Edwards, Tulsa River Parks Authority executive director, said officials have a general idea what the problem is, and they expect it to “be a quick and easy fix.”

“But we’ll need to drain the lake and have as minimal flow coming out of Keystone Lake as possible so that we can get in there and see for sure what’s going on.”

He said officials first noticed something was wrong with the dam over Labor Day weekend.

“We noticed that the lake was going down faster than what we were telling it to. That’s when we really noted this problem.”
