LIBERTY TWP., Pa. (WKBN) - A man was seriously hurt after troopers say an impaired driver hit him while he was working on the side of the road in Mercer County.
The Pennsylvania State Police said the driver was headed south on N. Liberty Road in Liberty Township around 11:45 a.m. Friday.
Troopers said the car went off the road and into a culvert, where the man was working.
The car hit the man, who had to be air-lifted to the hospital from the scene.
He suffered multiple serious injuries, including a fracture to his leg, multiple broken ribs and multiple skull fractures, troopers said.
The driver showed signs of impairment and had a suspended driver's license, according to troopers. Charges are expected to be filed.
