It was early 2024 when the then-new director of Boston's Office of Nightlife Economy, Corean Reynolds , floated an idea that seemed both weird and intriguing: inflatable nightclubs.

During an interview with the Boston Business Journal shortly after she was named to head up the new office in Mayor Michelle Wu's administration, Reynolds said that a " blow-up nightclub" — a giant bouncy house that could host events like a kids karaoke night — would soon be available to hold block parties and community events.
