MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - One person is dead, and another person is in critical condition after an early morning house fire in Mishawaka.

It happened around 4 a.m. in the 1000 block of W. Jefferson Boulevard.

Fire officials say one person died at the scene, one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and one person was safely rescued from the home.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the City of Mishawaka and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
