Every day in Canada, an average of 12 people die by suicide. For each life lost, at least seven to 10 survivors are deeply affected. To honour and remember those touched by suicide, the Suicide Safer Network (SSN) is hosting an event to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. It takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the New Sudbury Centre.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed annually on Sept. 10 with the goal of raising awareness about suicide, its impact and the importance of reducing stigma.
