ALEXANDRIA — The Prairie Lakes Audubon chapter will celebrate its 11th anniversary on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

The meeting will feature presenter Jon Mobeck. executive director of the National Loon Center in Cross Lake, Minn.

Our state bird the Common Loon faces many challenges beyond migration including habitat loss and lead poisoning.

The National Loon Center aims to restore and protect loon breeding habitats, enhance responsible recreation and serve as a national leader in advancing loon and freshwater research and education.
