LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Newburg early Saturday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., officers were called out to the 5500 block of Lodema Way for a reported shooting.

When they arrived, they found 48-year-old Mitchale L. Groves inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency services pronounced Groves dead at the scene.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation, but all parties involved are believed to be accounted for.
