SCOTTSBURG, Ind. —
An Indiana city celebrated its new basketball court by honoring two state championship teams.
The city of Scottsburg recently closed the basketball courts in Beechwood Park to allow for renovations.
To celebrate the courts' reopening and new upgrade, the city dedicated the courts to the two Scottsburg High School basketball state championship teams.
The first state championship team title went to the 1989 Warriorettes, who went 26-1 in the 1988-89 season, ultimately beating out Noblesville and Benton Central for the title, becoming the school’s first-ever basketball state champions.
The second state title came 35 years later, in the 2023-24 season. The Warriors went 25-5 in the regular season before beating out South Bend St. Joseph for the title, securing the schoo
