LINDEN, MI – After over a year of planning and securing funding, the city of Linden is moving forward with the renovation of its more than 150-year-old mill.
Linden City Council voted 6-0 last month to officially approve plans for the $5.62 million Linden Mill renovation project .
“That building means a lot to us,” council member Denise Miller said during the meeting.
The scope of the project features several structural upgrades, including roof replacement, a new porch, window installation and restoration as well as foundation, façade, and masonry improvements. Additionally, the exterior of the building will be repainted.
Rebuilding the Mill’s foundation alone will cost nearly $2.9 million, and the historic preservation of the building will cost about $500,000, according to council m
