BLOOMINGTON – Indiana's players and coaches were thoroughly unsatisfied with the team's performance in their season-opening 27-14 victory over Old Dominion.
Coach Curt Cignetti noted the Hoosiers could have scored as many as 55 points with the plays they left on the field on offense and repeatedly emphasized IU had a chance to "put a fork in" the Monarchs but failed to do so.
And yet – the Hoosiers won the game by two touchdowns and led by three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Outside of the actual score, the game was a comprehensive beatdown, with Indiana marching up and down the field and Old Dominion struggling to build offensive momentum.
