GRANT, Michigan — The Grant Police Department (GPD) is mourning Officer Don Morsaw, who died while off duty.

GPD posted the announcement of his death on Facebook on Saturday afternoon.

Morsaw joined GPD in 2018 and served the community with "dedication, integrity and compassion."

The department said that over the past seven years, he became a trusted colleague who committed himself to keeping the community safe.

"We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Morsaw's family, friends and colleagues," GPD said. "We ask the community to keep them in your thoughts and to respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Arrangements and memorial details will be shared with the community when they're available.
