ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at a home in Norcross Saturday morning, according to Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

Officials say a woman called around 6 a.m. Saturday to report her home along Riva Ridge Drive was on fire, and her father was trapped inside.

When firefighters arrived, they immediately began battling the blaze and looking for possible victims. Due to safety concerns, they entered the house through a window and began searching for anyone trapped inside.

While inside the home, crews found an elderly man unresponsive near a bedroom window. He was rescued and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The woman who called 911 made it out safely and was taken to Northside Gwinnett Medical Cent
