COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Things were a little bit sleepy as Texas A&M began its first morning kickoff of the season, against a 4-8 Mountain West Utah State program from last season.

However, Aggie defensive end Cashius Howell, recording three consecutive sacks early in the second quarter, became a human wake-up call for his team and the entire capacity of Kyle Field, leading A&M to a XX-X win over Utah State Saturday.

The maroon Aggies posted 20 points and 186 yards of offense in the second quarter, while the defense held Utah State to -15 yards in the frame.

A&M held Utah State to an 0 for 9 mark on third down conversions through the first three quarters of the game.

It was all A&M needed to put the game out of reach and notch its second win of the season.
