NEWBURGH — Authorities in Newburgh ordered residents to shelter in place as crews, including a hazmat team, worked to contain a large industrial fire in the area of Vann Road and Anderson Road near an industrial park.
According to the Warrick County Sheriff's Office, the shelter-in-place order is for residences and businesses located "east of Anderson Road between Vann Road and Oak Grove/Roeder Road, as well as residents on Lincoln Avenue from Anderson Road to State Road 61."
Officials issued the shelter-in-place order "due to the possibility of hazardous chemicals being involved," the Warrick County Sheriff's Office said in a statement just after 3:20 p.m.
