MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - At about 4:18 p.m., a vehicle collided with a tree at the intersection of West US Highway 90 and Elizabeth Sims Loop, leaving one dead and three injured, per the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the vehicle was ‘cut in half’ after colliding with a tree Saturday. The roadway is currently blocked as FHP officials are setting up detours.
The vehicle had four female occupants, one of whom was killed following the crash, an FHP spokesperson said.
One of the female occupants was airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The two other female occupants were taken by ground to TMH, according to an FHP spokesperson.
An FHP spokesperson said the cause of the accident is unknown.
