A driver died in a crash on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County, according to Lance Cpl. Brittany Glover of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at 2:20 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 26 westbound at the 164 mile marker, about two miles north of Bowman.

A 2010 Audi was traveling west on I-26 when it traveled off the road to the left and struck the median cables. The driver died at the scene.

The Orangeburg County Coroner's office will release the name of the deceased when the next of kin has been notified.
