YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- The Iron and Steel Train Show took place on Saturday at the Assumption Social Center to benefit Akron Children's Hospital.
The event had model trains and items from around 40 vendors on display for enthusiasts to potentially add something new to their collection.
"It's a great hobby. It gets people involved, a lot of camaraderie with the guys," said Dennis Mamone, organizer of the event and train hobbyist for over 25 years.
Mamone, who has been hosting model train events for 10 years, said that proceeds from Saturday's showing will go towards a Willy Wonka train set that will be donated to Akron Children's Hospital. He said that the donation will be made in his wife's name, who passed away three years ago.
