Bruce Pearl on why he doesn't wear Final Four ring, has message for college football

Bruce Pearl has a message for the college football world.

“This is Auburn,” Pearl told ESPNU’s Lauren Sisler on the field Saturday during Auburn’s game with Ball State. “This is different, right? This is for the Ball State game, right? This place is incredible.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze is getting it going. Don’t you sleep on Auburn football right now because they are fixin’ to roll right now. I’m telling you right now.”

Pearl and his basketball team were in attendance for the game to be presented their Final Four rings, but the basketball coach wasn’t showcasing his new bling.

“No rings on this hand, except maybe this wedding ring,” Pearl said. “That was history, but it’s history. It’s time for the next championship.”

The next title will have to come without Johni Broome.
