COLUMBIA — Kickoff for South Carolina football's home opener against SC State will be delayed due to weather.

The game was originally set to start at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN+.) The new kickoff time has not been set yet and neither team has taken the field to begin warming up.

The forecast near Williams-Brice Stadium clears up around 7 p.m. but the announcer said there is still unsafe weather in the area and urged fans to seek shelter. As of 6:40 p.m., people started filling in the stadium and taking their seats.

Both teams are heading into the game with a 1-0 win streak. South Carolina beat Virginia Tech 24-11 in its season opener and the Bulldogs beat Wofford 16-15.
