AUBURN — The runway's cleared for Auburn football to take off and have the turnaround season it needs in Year 3 of the Hugh Freeze era.

The Tigers opened 2025 with emphasis, heading to Waco, Texas, and beating Baylor 38-24 on Aug. 29 for what was their fifth Power 4 true victory under Freeze. Now, Auburn returns home for a two-week stretch of Group of 5 contests, starting with Ball State on Saturday (6:30 p.m. CT, ESPNU).

Auburn's a 42.5-point favorite, according to BetMGM . It's a likely tune-up affair for the program, which left Waco with plenty of room to improve. It'll get a chance to do so against the Cardinals, and the same goes for its hosting of South Alabama the following week.

Should the Tigers take care of business, they'd be undefeated, with just their second 3-0
