JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - On Saturday, the third annual Jackson Suicide Prevention Ruck March was held at the Jackson Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Participants in this 5K were asked to fill up their ruck sack up to 75 pounds to represent the weight of problems that active duty military members and veterans face that could potentially lead to them taking their own life.

“So in the army you have a ruck sack. And in that ruck sack is all your belongings, and when you do a ruck march you take and carry all your belongings with you,” Doug Brinker said.
