CHESHIRE, CT (WFSB) - The fire department said a house was struck by lightning during the storm on Saturday afternoon in Cheshire.

Crews said the strike caused significant damage to the chimney and roof.

According to the Cheshire Fire Department, the lightning did not result in a fire.

The fallen chimney reportedly put a hole through the roof.

Officials put a patch over the hole to prevent water from seeping through.
