LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Four people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash in the south Las Vegas valley Saturday afternoon, according to Metro police.

Around 2:20 p.m., Metro police responded to the intersection of Windmill Lane and Las Vegas Boulevard after a report of a crash involving three mid-sized SUVs and a minivan.

Four people, including a juvenile, were taken to local hospitals. Two suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the other two suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

One person was taken into custody on DUI-related charges, according to police.

LVMPD Fatal detectives have taken over the investigation and the intersection of Windmill and Las Vegas Boulevard is closed in all directions. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
