DILLON — Last week, Carroll opened its season by defeating MSU-Northern on the road 20-0. This week, Montana Western opened its first game at home by more than doubling the Fighting Saints’ efforts and defeating the Lights 52-0.

It was a welcome and much-needed reset for the Bulldogs after coming off their 38-27 loss to Montana Tech last week.

“It was important for us to play well today,” Western coach Ryan Nourse said. “After a subpar performance up in Butte against a really good football team, we’re highly motivated to make the necessary improvements and we made a lot of them.”
