STATE COLLEGE — Penn State , the No. 2-ranked team in the country, didn’t look like it for much of Saturday’s game against FIU. But the Nittany Lions eventually pulled away in a 34-0 win, moving to 2-0 on the season.

Penn State led only 10-0 at halftime against the Panthers, bringing out a few boos at Beaver Stadium. But Jim Knowles’ defense — a few big plays in the second half — made sure FIU’s upset never materialized.
