The country music world was rocked recently when news broke that the mother of rising young star Spencer Hatcher had been stabbed to death during a home invasion.

According to multiple reports, Holly Hatcher, 62, was killed in her Virginia home on Aug. 3.

Hatcher posted on Instagram the day prior to the news that he was cancelling upcoming shows due to a “monumental loss” in his family.

There have been few updates since, and the singer has yet to return to social media.

According to multiple reports , 41-year-old Kevin Walker entered the Hatcher home and stabbed Holly to death before attacking her husband, Michael Hatcher. Michael was able to get free and was able to get a handgun out of his car that he used to shoot and kill Walker.
