Auburn’s defense annihilated Ball State by holding them to 68 yards of total offense in its 42-3 victory Saturday night.
The Tigers held the Cardinals to -3 rushing yards, the first time Auburn has achieved this defensive feat since 2001, according to Auburn coach Hugh Freeze .
“I thought our defense really played hungry and physical and kind of set the tone for the night,” Freeze said postgame. “Just good to give our fans that kind of a game at home. Proud to get the first win here and be 1-0 in Jordan-Hare.”
Auburn finished the contest with six sacks and 14 tackles for loss. The Tigers forced one turnover on the Cardinals as Malik Blocton recovered a Kiael Kelly fumble in the first half.
