The Pittsburgh Steelers will have star defensive lineman Cam Heyward in the lineup on Sunday when they open their 2025 schedule against the New York Jets after the two sides agreed to a new contract on Saturday evening. Heyward had been threatening to sit out the game after holding in during most of training camp unless the Steelers re-worked his contract.

Now that all of that is behind them, the Steelers will have one of their top players available.

Heyward gets a small raise for 2025 season

Heyward's re-worked deal includes $3 million in incentives and could allow him to earn up to $18 million for the 2025 season, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
