EUGENE, Ore. — Mike Gundy walked into an interview tent ready to take questions from the media who just watched his Oklahoma State football team lose in historic fashion.

No Cowboys squad in 118 years had been defeated by these many points. Oklahoma wasn’t even a state when the scoreboard displayed this large a deficit.

No Bedlam fans were alive when Oklahoma beat the Cowboys 67-0 in that Nov. 9, 1907 game. One week later, statehood was granted to our land.
